Integrity Policy in the company.

1. Does the Company implemented a policy of integrity and good practices? 2. Is meritocracy current through ongoing evaluation and control? 3. Can anyone freely report an incidence level that it considers discriminatory or unfair?

We often find in the media corruption, usually associated with politics and their fat contracts with big business. Really cases of dubious or dishonest practices are common in the daily life of many companies, internally, come to regard as normal.

In this chapter we will review one of the three pillars of the Management Regeneration, the mainstay of COMPLETENESS.

The policy of Integrity as a concept, must not only emanate from the top of the company and be an absolute point of their culture, but also should be updated annually through a workshop to be made by the 100% employees, who should "sign" their commitment to acceptance as a drink inexcusable.

Anyone who is familiar with the corporate culture of General Electric, like me, know the extent to which integrity is a cornerstone of GE Capital and runs neatly in all units, whatever the country of implementation. Therefore I will take it as an admirable example of Management.

I confess that my first course on Integrity in GE - repeat: the 100% employees have to pass it via workflow documented on the intranet - bother me. It seemed obvious exercise, but then I realized the true value of this pillar of corporate culture. GE is a holding of companies from different industrial sectors and services, from equipment and infrastructure services for the primary sector, industrial and tertiary, to financial services, through health technologies and appliances. Globalization and homogenization of the same culture in a company of this nature, with 300.000 multicultural and multiracial as employees operating in more than 100 the countries 5 continents, requires that the same guidelines and tools are implemented in all units. And to bring in the way GE is getting really admirable.

The annual training is conducted face Integrity and mandatory for all new employees hired this year and voluntary for veterans. Any questions should be asked the HR responsible for imparting the workshop. Subsequently, all employees are invited to training to pass the annual WorkFlow available on the intranet, which provides many practical examples that you should complete. And so year after year. Any misstep by any employee in GE is expressly outside the "Company Law", although this shock on his face sometimes practices too common in some countries. I must confess that I suffered some restraint for fear of violating the norms of GE. I left my professional network within the sector, which leads to an isolation that leads away from career opportunities to companies competing for your experience could be of value. This has recently been overlooked by professional social networks like LinkedIn that, without violating the integrity, not isolate you from your business environment. Therefore, and in spite of that restraint in my case, consider that the policy of INTEGRITY GE is an example of international scope.

I do not know other companies that carried out similarly laudable policy. I'd like to know what experiences you are about your knowledge. A close friend of mine often apostille: "If I were President would force, legislate, ... "Well, parodying a mi amigo, let me apostille: "If I were President would pass a law compelling all companies above a certain size to have a policy of public integrity and transparent"

Self-reflection Is there a policy of integrity in My Company? Do you play My Company questionable practices in its operations? Am I self-limiting in my professional network surpassing integrity policy of My Company?
