Relevance of CSR in the First Congress of Industrial Engineering – initiation

Many of my followers are technical, others. But the latter also for certain topics of the congress of industrial engineering will be of much interest to be closely related to the crisis in the country and the Corporate Social Responsibility, that is the issue that concerns us here.

I've been very pleased that Corporate Social Responsibility has been present in almost every table I themed Congress held INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING 23 and 24 October 2012.

mesa 3

While the Bureau 3 , which was framed in my paper, was specifically dedicated to CSR, reference has not missed this important issue in virtually any 12 Event tables.

Since opening the first words from D. Jesus Rodriguez Cortezo,Dean of COIIM,became clear the goal of this Congress:

With the deindustrialization that Spain is suffering industrial engineers speak out and propose actions to society and the Government of Argentina to regain the position it reached this country for years.

The Dean is clear: "No industry, no country. Because the service society is not possible without an industry to support it ".

The first conference is provided by the sociologist Amando de Miguel, who belonged to the first promotions of Industrial Organization School (EOI), when it still stood at the ETSII of the Castellana Avenue, where the Congress was held.

Amando de Miguel began his keynote talking about quoting Plato Social Responsibility, who makes 25 centuries referred to "Art of Business" as the freeing of poverty many people. And after explaining the strength of the professional engineers in the business and the process of industrialization in Spain from the early '50s, completed his dissertation under the concept of social responsibility that started:  "Enterprising entrepreneur and now seeks to solve problems of people and groups. The leading companies are prepared to cooperate in helping marginalized groups and environmental care. Eventually meets Plato's: businessmen contribute to poverty dims ".
